AVOIDING COMPUTER VIRUSES
There is no 100% security from computer viruses. However, there are things you can do to better safeguard your computer. You can also practice more conservative computer/internet surfing habits.

-- Install an internet firewall on your computer. A firewall will help block-up any security holes in your internet connection.

-- Buy some antivirus software and make sure that you either have the software's automatic update option turned on. If no automatic update option is available, then you must update your software regularly to make sure that you have the most current version on your computer. There are new viruses spreading everyday.

-- Be careful when opening email attachments. Never open one that is from an unfamiliar source. You should even exhibit caution when opening attachments from people you know. If you can verify that the attachment they sent is from them and that it is legitimate.

As mentioned, no security is 100% guaranteed prevention from the installation of computer viruses on your computer. Therefore, it is a good idea to create back-ups, or copies, of any important files onto a disk.
